Eduardo Paolozzi (*1924 in Edinburgh, †2005 in London) is one of the founders of British Pop Art. He enjoyed a long history with Munich, where, in 1981, he became Professor at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste and taught sculpture until his retirement in 1994. Munich also has 3 public sculptures by Eduardo Paolozzi: in 1978 he created Camera in front of the Europäisches Patentamt, in 1986 For Leonardo at the Alte Pinakothek and finally in 1989, Polygraphia Nova, a fountain in the Schwabing district. His work had been shown in the Lenbachhaus, in 1965 and 1984. In 1971 the Munich gallerist Dorothea Leonhart published the artist’s screen print series B.A.S.H. in 5 different colour schemes and in an edition of 3000.
